If you choose to utilise the character creation service on Stephen Hayes Online, you do so in full understanding of the following points:
- You are bound by the website's Terms of Use.
- The character creation tool is free to use and Stephen Hayes Online will endeavour to ensure that the tool is available to site members at all times, excepting when the site is suspended for maintanence.
- You maycreate as many characters as you wish and may update or delete them at any time, excepting characters which have been selected for use in Stephen Hayes's works.
- Members whose accounts have been anonymised may use the character creation tool, however their characters will not be selected for use in Stephen Hayes's works unless they consent to being credited by name in said works.
- You will own the intellectual property of the characters you create using the character creation tool unless you consent to a character being used in Stephen Hayes's works, at which time ownership will pass to Stephen Hayes.
- If your character is selected for use in Stephen Hayes's works, you will be notified to provide your consent. If your consent is not received in a timely manner, Stephen Hayes reserves the right to revoke the selection.
- You will be credited by name and location in all of Stephen Hayes's works which contain any references to any character you have provided consent for usage in said works.
- Stephen Hayes will endeavour to portray your character as accurately as possible based on the details you have provided. Any details not provided will be determined by Stephen Hayes at his own discression.
- You may be entitled to free copies of any of Stephen Hayes's works in which your character plays a significant role in the following circumstances:
- If your character only appears in one or more short stories which are free to download, you will be provided with links to access them.
- If your character appears in a stand-alone novel, you will be provided with a free copy of the novel in the format of your choosing: Ebook, print or audiobook, depending on what formats are produced.
- If your character appears in a single volume in a series, you will be provided with a free copy of the volume in the format of your choosing: Ebook, print or audiobook, depending on what formats are produced.
- If your character appears in multiple volumes in a series, you will be provided with an Ebook copy of each of the relevant volumes in the series.
